Mi 13 evaluation: from parameters to experience, from partial to comprehensive

Although the press conference was a few days late, the Mi 13 series did not live up to everyone’s expectations. Judging from the online feedback after the press conference, it seems that everyone is also very interested in the Mi 13 with a straight-screen design. It just so happens that we also received the Mi 13 white top version. Next, we will experience the Mi 13 with everyone to see if the 13 is really fragrant.

Appearance design and screen:

The appearance of Xiaomi 13 can see the shadow of iPhone, because it uses a high-gloss aluminum alloy right-angle frame, in order to take care of the feel, the back is a 3D curved glass back cover, so the grip experience is better than the same right-angle frame design iPhone much better. The front value of Xiaomi 13 is quite high, the four sides are very narrow and the full screen looks very comfortable, and the upper and lower borders are almost the same width, and the curvature of the R angle of the screen is basically the same as the border. I believe many small partners should like this design.

The screen of the Xiaomi Mi 13 is 6.36 inches in size, which is considered a small screen compared to many 6.7-inch flagships. Coupled with the thickness of the 7.98mm body and the weight of the 189g body, the Xiaomi Mi 13 has a good one-hand grip experience, and because it is a straight screen design, it is not so easy to accidentally touch when typing with one hand.

Since the screen is mentioned, in addition to the design of the face-to-face screen, the overall quality of the Xiaomi 13 screen is also very excellent, with a peak brightness of 1900 nits, and the screen display is clearly visible in daylight. For me personally, although this screen does not have a 2K resolution, the actual experience feels that the screen is still very delicate. More importantly, the Xiaomi 13 brings full DC dimming and HDR display.

The full DC dimming can effectively reduce the eye fatigue caused by screen flickering, while the HDR display can better display high dynamic range photos or videos such as HDR. After all, the Xiaomi 13 also supports 4K 10bit Dolby Vision HDR video recording. The HDR display needs to be manually turned on in the album settings, and the measured display of HDR photos will also show higher brightness and more dark details than ordinary screens. However, when playing back Dolby Vision HDR videos, the screen color temperature will change greatly, and it may need to be optimized later.

Performance and game performance:

The Mi 13 series is equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 8. The performance of this processor is beyond doubt. The new CPU architecture design and GPU have improved performance and reduced power consumption. In addition to the second-generation Snapdragon 8, the Mi 13 also comes standard with 8533Mbps LPDDR 5X memory and UFS 4.0 flash memory with a read speed of up to 3.5GB/s. The memory specifications of LPDDR5X must be familiar to everyone, so how big is the improvement of UFS 4.0? In fact, UFS 4.0 was officially released in August this year. On the basis of retaining 2 channels, it was upgraded to the M-PHY version 5.0 specification and the UniPro version 2.0 specification, so the maximum total bandwidth reached 46.4Gbps. Theoretically, the transmission speed of up to 4.6GB/s can be achieved, which is twice the performance of the previous generation UFS 3.0/3 standard. The improvement is still very large.

Antu Rabbit running point test, Xiaomi Mi 13 easily exceeded 1.30 million points, Geekbench 5 test, core solo running point 1500 points, multi-core total score 5222 points, 3DMark Wild LIfe Extreme test score 3736 points, stability test the highest score of 3732 points, the lowest score of 2907 points, stability of 77.9%.

So how does the UFS 4.0 flash memory chip of Xiaomi Mi 13 perform? By disassembling, it can be seen that the flash memory chip of Xiaomi Mi 13 comes from the first-tier manufacturer Kaixia, and the specific model of the flash memory is THGJFJT2T85BAT0. After our actual measurement, the read and write speed of this UFS 4.0 flash memory chip of Kaixia is also awesome.

The read speed of AndroBench test sequence reached 3570MB/s, and the read speed of Antutu test sequence reached 3596MB/s, which is firmly at the first-line level. The flagship mobile phones with the second generation of Snapdragon 8 released this year all use UFS 4.0 flash memory as a big selling point. We also look forward to the market where UFS 4.0 can be popularized as soon as possible in the future to further improve the fluency of mobile phones.

In the test of the game, we chose "Yuan God" to turn on the high-effect 60-frame mode. The average frame rate of the Xiaomi 13 running "Yuan God" in half an hour can reach 60 frames, and the average power consumption is 4.6W. At this time, the maximum temperature of the measured border of the mobile phone is 39.8 ° C, and the maximum temperature of the back near the border is 36.6 ° C. With the blessing of the second-generation Snapdragon 8, the Xiaomi 13 can be said to have perfectly conquered "Yuan God".

Leica Imaging:

Mi 13 is equipped with IMX800 main camera, 1/1.49 inches, f/1.8 aperture, 50 million pixels, 23mm equivalent focal length, support HyperOIS super optical image stabilization; telephoto is 10 million pixels, 1/3.75 inches, f/2.0 aperture, 75mm equivalent focal length, support OIS optical image stabilization; ultra wide-angle 12 million pixels, 1/3.06 inches, f/2.2 aperture, 15mm equivalent focal length.

Of course, the biggest highlight of the Mi 13 camera is the blessing of Leica Imaging, including the blessing of Leica’s native dual image quality, Leica ultra-color imaging and other technologies. After our shooting experience, the Mi 13 main camera has no slots in the daytime conditions with sufficient light, and the blessing of Leica’s classic image quality, the Mi 13 is also full of German flavor. In dark light scenes, the Mi 13 main camera will not blindly improve the brightness, but can take care of the overall look and feel.

It is worth mentioning that the main camera of Xiaomi Mi 13 also gives a 2x zoom shortcut button. After the main camera is cut 2x, the image quality is good in the case of sufficient light, but the image quality will be felt at night. Decline.

In fact, my favorite on the Xiaomi 13 is this 75mm telephoto lens. This telephoto lens can provide 3.2x optical zoom, and the image quality is good enough in sufficient light to provide more creative space. Even if the zoom is 5x, the image quality is still enough. Of course, in extremely dark scenes, this telephoto lens will inevitably have more noise, but many times it can also bring enough surprises.

Ultra wide-angle I do not use much daily, millet 13 ultra wide-angle in general, no matter day or night, the center of the picture image quality is still OK, but the edge of the picture can not withstand magnification.

In terms of video, the main camera and 75mm telephoto lens of Xiaomi Mi 13 support 4K 30fps Dolby Vision HDR video recording, which can bring more room for small partners who like to shoot videos.

Charging and others:

Xiaomi Mi 13 has a built-in 4500mAh battery, which supports 67W fast charging, 50W wireless second charging and 10W wireless reverse charging. The official standard comes with a maximum 67W A-port charger, which can be charged from 2% in 5 minutes to 22%, 35% in 10 minutes, 61% in 20 minutes, 86% in half an hour, and takes 45 minutes to fully charge.

In addition to the performance and image that people pay more attention to, Xiaomi Mi 13 also does a good job in other aspects, such as supporting IP68 dust and waterproof, which can be used in more harsh environments in daily use, and also supports WiFi 6 enhanced version, which can achieve faster peak rate and lower power consumption. It also supports Tesla, BMW, Denza and other brand car digital car keys, etc.

In addition, under the blessing of the system MIUI 14, the feeling of Xiaomi 13 to me is really like iPhone. The like here means that it is smooth like iPhone, the system animation is smooth and rarely drops frames, and the small screen is mastered by one hand, and there is a feeling of hitting where.

Summary: Bucket machine at the price of 4000 yuan

As a small-screen flagship, the Mi 13 seems to me more like a bucket machine. In terms of performance, it has the ability to release the awesome and not-so-hot second-generation Snapdragon 8. In terms of image, it has Leica blessing and a 75mm telephoto lens. The screen is still E6, but it has high-frequency PWM dimming and album HDR display. Although the battery is only 4500mAh, the battery life is good. The highest wired is only 67W, but it also gives 50W wireless charging. I can’t say which performance of the Mi 13 is very outstanding, but it does complete the transformation from a partial parameter to a comprehensive experience, which is also needed by more ordinary consumers.
