Huawei said that HarmonyOS NEXT will be open to developers from cooperative enterprises from now on, and Quarter 1 will be open to all developers in 2024!

HarmonyOS NEXT is what everyone calls "pure blood". Its system base is fully self-developed, removing the traditional AOSP code, only supporting the application of Hongmeng kernel and Hongmeng system, reducing the redundant code by 40%, which greatly improves the system’s fluency, energy efficiency, and pure security features.

At present, Huawei has fully upgraded from design resources, programming languages, compilers to power builders and debugging tools, and the HarmonyOS SDK has been upgraded to the API 10 end cloud, integrated at one time.

Huawei emphasized at HDC 2023 that the Hongmeng kernel has three characteristics: natural fluency, extreme energy efficiency, and pure security. Coupled with the Ark engine, it brings a graphical experience. Huawei’s Hongmeng ecological base has been completed, and it will strive to develop and expand the Hongmeng OS ecosystem in the future.
